Planeta Chilean Publishing House is part of PLaneta Publishing Group. We represent in Chile a set of important publishing houses: Planeta, Seix Barral, Espasa, Ariel, Deusto, Temas de Hoy, Critica, Emecé, Destino, Martinez Roca, Minotauro, Paidós, Oniro, Gestión 2000, CEAC, Amat, Timun, Mas, Quinteto, Booket and Diana.
Planeta Chilean Publishing House was founded on 1968 and since then has operated as distributor those editorials imprints, according to the incorporation of those in the group. In 1986 inaugurated it’s own publishing line, undertaking since then the diffusion of the national authors as much in the fiction as in the nonfiction field. This has positioned the publishing house in a leadership position in the branch. In 1989 the collection South Library was created the one that constituted the main beam around which the New Chilean Narrative was developed.
At the present time we count on a catalogue with outstanding significance authors like Marcela Serrano, Diamela Eltit, Pedro Lemebel, Carla Guelfenbein among others.
The publishing house in parallel occupies a privileged place in the investigative journalism publishing and essays of historical and political interest. Among the most emblematic titles figures De Charaña a La Haya from José Rodríguez Elizondo, La sombra del dictador from Heraldo Muñoz.
