Elena Velasquez Gallardo is a scientific journalist, graduated at the Universidad de Chile, Santiago, 1971, where she obtained an outstanding final grade with her thesis called “La Homeopatía en Chile” (“The Homepathy in Chile”). Her professional practice took place in radio Balmaceda, where she attended all the news reports at the week end. She also worked as a reporter at Orbe Chilean Informative Agency, where she attended all the news items and bulletins. Later on, she became head of Public Relations in the Regional Secretary for Planification and Coordination (SERPLAC), from the Sixth Region of the country and also in the occasion of the XXIII Cardiology Congress, based on Cardiovascular Surgery. She also covered the X Nursery Journeys, in the same speciality and in Coronary Unity Course, 1986.

She worked also as a journalist in the National Customer Service (SERNAC), where she edited many informative articles in order to teach the custemers to a better use of the familiar budget. Later on, she wrote for the following reviews: Creces, Carola, Vínculo and Siglo XXI; ran the Public Relations and Secretary to the Directory in the Chilean Homeopathy Association and prepared special reports for the Sunday Supplement “La Gaceta”, for “El Sur” newspaper from Concepción City, Chile. During eight years, she was exclusive columnist of “Saber Comprar” (”Knowing how to buy”) and “En Trámite” (“Business affairs”), for the Revista Vivienda & Decoración of El Mercurio newspaper of Santiago, Chile. She continued next, working as editor of other reviews of several institutions an she is currently member of the Scientific Journalists Chilean Association, (ACHIPEC), where she joined in 1986.

Her first book published –edited en 2008- is “EN BUSCA DEL EQUILIBRIO VITAL. Homeopatía: una Medicina Científica” (“LOOKING FOR VITAL HARMONY. HOMEOPATHY: a Scientific Medicina”), where she systematicly gathers a great deal of researches an compilations of many years; and copious mqterial is there compiled as well from published press and specialized journals as much as various reports from media and Internet. Is there included also material from intervies to physicians and health caree professionals and experts in homeopathy. This book has been the result of a deep concern of the author to asses the importance of the homeopathic scientific contribution to humanity in general and to the present world, letting them know the big value and the extraordinary benefits in the maintenance and health recuperation of millions of people who receive homeopathy medical treatments, all around the world. She has also been invited to give some lectures on the subject of her book on some institutions and universities.
